It’s time for Princess Peach to take the center stage in a solo adventure. It’s a nice night out on the town, and while visiting the theater things take a sudden turn as there’s a disturbance. Our lead leaps into action and begins exploring various stage areas as she takes on differing roles in order to tackle the problems.
There’s some folks that are up to no good and it’ll take the talents of the heroine to work through them. It’s a neat setup as you essentially get to play as Peach in these unique settings with distinct abilities. There are a couple of these used throughout the game and finally a bit of conclusion aspect to each special ability prior to finally taking on the true villain of it all.
There’s not really any depth past going through each of the areas as it’s fairly conclusive once you reach the ending, aside from perhaps the collectibles. You can use what you’ve gathered for some customization options at a little market, but alas it’s a fairy straight forward time. It’s a decently lengthy narrative but if you’re looking for something past that there really isn’t much.
As mentioned each area displays a distinct styling of Peach. She can be a figure skater; a swords fighter, a dashing thief, an aquatic mermaid, a swinging cowgirl, a detective, a pastry chef, a kung-fu master and finally a ninja. There’s a lot of talents there and each unique section is built up around these abilities. Some are more combat focused, others are more based upon puzzles.
Nothing here is very complex and it’s very approachable for all types of audiences. That being said, it certainly focuses on the younger audience in particular as I’m not sure the adults will find a whole lot of challenge with this one. Still, I loved the set design and the feeling that this was straight up a stage show.
It had lovely visuals, a good sense of detail and a vibrant design that felt true to Princess Peach. The differing challenges or well skills you had to use were fun and I think younger girls will have a blast with this one as I imagine that’s the target audience for it. I personally loved the figure skating portion as she just gracefully soared around the environment, it was dazzling and the music matched.
Prince Peach Showtime! is quite a lot of fun, it features vibrant visuals and a wide range of various talents that the lead heroine can display. It was enjoyable having her as a lead and I’d like to see further projects along this styling as it always kept things distinct.
One level you’re a mermaid swimming about, the next your slashing enemies with a sword or even past that being some sort of ninja. It does feel slightly all over the place with so many abilities but it works here. It’s a tad too simple for me personally but I think the target audience will love this.
It’s got a great sense of presentation, aesthetic and mechanics to it with some charming music that matches. I had fun playing it but also found it a little too easy going as I’ve mentioned. Still, there’s a nice sense of charm and enjoyment to be had from it.
