It’s actually really easy to skip time in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. This is a feature to get ahead, otherwise you’ll have to wait real world time in order to progress. That can be a real pain when you have nothing to do and just want to keep on playing. Follow these steps in order to change the time on your console so that you’re not locked to the constraints of actual clocks.
#1: Save your game and then close the game by pressing the Nintendo Switch’s home button. Highlight the game’s icon on your home and press the X button for a prompt to show up. Click the close game option, make sure you saved the game prior to this of course.
#2: Go to the settings and choose system settings, this area is the gear icon on your Nintendo Switch home screen. The setting we’re looking for is at the bottom of the page under “system”
#3: Now you’ll choose “date and time”, turning off the “Synchronize Clock via Internet” option. Then, go down and change the date to any point, if you’re trying to progress time simply choose tomorrow as an example.
#4: Open the game again and you’ll be magically transferred to that day, easy.
Keep in mind that changing the day to far in advance will cause growth in the local flora such as the weeds. You will need to sync the clock to regular time for special holiday events if you wish to participate within them.
It shouldn’t really cause any issues doing this, have fun being in the realms of tomorrow using the magical ability to skip time ahead within the game. Check out more coverage of the game below and be ready for the island trip adventure of a lifetime!
