In the DayZ 1.04 update for Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC you might have noticed increased, seemingly random bleeding on your in-game characters. This is actually due to some new mechanics in the game that you should be watching for.
The first aspect, is of course the traditional cuts. Getting attacked by zombies, other people and weapons may cause this issue. You’ll fix it using rags, bandages or a sewing kit. This is done through self-application of course, but others could as well if they’re friendly.
Moving past that, your feet can now get cut if your shoes break down. That’s right, you’ll need to swap out shoes occasionally or fix them up. If you don’t random bleeding will occur on your character’s foot, which is not great. Another situation is sliding down ladders, you now need to use gloves.
If you aren’t wearing them, or if the gloves are damaged you may get cuts from doing that activity. Other than that, it would be a glitch and just keep fixing your character up until it’s all good and the gash icon has disappeared from the little bottom corner of the screen.
You can also monitor things and damage from your character presentation within the inventory screen. Those are all the details for this experience thus far, read our review of the Xbox One DayZ version below or check out the general franchise hub for additional coverage over time.
