You might have heard, or seen details about the DayZ Xbox One Experimental game and have been wondering what exactly it is. This is a fresh branch of the game that is free to download for those that own the core game digitally. It’s not currently available to those that own DayZ through a disc purchase, but the developers are working to make that possible in the future. You can search for it in my games and apps, or within the general dashboard.

So what exactly is the DayZ Xbox Experimental game? This is a standalone advanced version of the title for testing purposes. It features limited servers, and the next updated content for the game. It starts with update 1.08 and will run a few weeks ahead of the full release of the update to the core game.

This will continue as future updates are made available. This in turn will assist with bug fixing and improving the experience across all console options. This is a great direction for the game to take. It is important to note some things however. No process made in this game will carry over to the full experience. This will likely be buggy, and have issues as they’re trying to get feedback to fix these very problems.

You will likely see your characters get wiped, and access occasionally be cut off. I hope you found this information helpful in regards to understand what exactly this addition is the experience. It’s basically an extension of the work originally done in Xbox Game Preview, and it will most certainly benefit console players of the game.
