In DayZ Xbox One and Playstation 4 the 1.05 update brings some changes to the movement system within the game. It’s now very easy to scale over objects that were once in your way. You’ll be able to get over items that are up to 2.30 meters in heights which is a fair selection of path blocking obstacles.
It’s very easy to vault or climb walls. To do so you simply go up to the said obstacle and then use your jumping button whether that’s “A” on Xbox One or “X” on PS4. It may be a bit glitch to do, but once it works you’ll watch your character reach up and then clamber over.
It’s quite a big difference for traversal within the game and it works fairly well. Keep in mind that you do need some stamina in order to be able to do so. Be careful with this, as it might not always work quickly and the locked animation could leave you stranded if you’re being chased or attacked.
Zombies can also climb many of the objects such as fences, walls or even parts of buildings so be careful in that regard as they’re usually quicker than you are in this situation. Hopefully you found this vaulting and climbing guide helpful and straight to the actual point in being able to accomplish this neat additional feat that’s been added to the experience. I’ve certainly been waiting awhile for it, as have many others within this 1.05 update that’s now out.
You can see it in action in the above video as well, in case a visual aid is required to understand the mechanics that have been introduced. Those are all the details for this experience thus far, read our review of the Xbox One DayZ version below or check out the general franchise hub for additional coverage over time.
