The world of Dead by Daylight continues to grow with this latest chapter titled “Cursed Legacy”. Within it you get a brand new killer, and a new survivor. The fresh monstrous killer is the “The Oni”, a samurai that has been corrupted by the Entity and turned into a dark reflection of what he once was.

This is a really neat character to play as, and one that might take a little time to get used to. My first match I felt things were a bit off, but once I got a handle this powerful being was a menace out there. There’s a signature sword to use, and as you begin to inflict pain your foes will bleed.

The blood you shed will show up on the map as large sphere bubbles in the air. You can absorb that essence, and it fuels a rage meter. Once this fury is ready you can unleash it and chase down the survivors with an extra sense of power.

There’s an intense dash to use, and a massive club for big smashes into the ground or poor people trying to get away. This killer also looks really awesome, and again rather menacing to see out there. You of course get three distinct perks as well, for the killer and for the new survivor. The new heroic individual you can play as is Yui Kimura.

She’s a rebellious spirit that goes against traditions and looks like a fairly typical Japanese motorcyclist if that’s such a thing. She’s actually a really interesting character to see out there, and I enjoyed playing as her. She has a really neat outfit style that flops around fabric wise as you move about on the maps. You get a bonus cosmetic item to use with her, Yui’s Pink Striped Top. Not sure what else to mention, found this to be a good alternate survivor option to who I usually play as in the game.

The Conclusion

I found the Dead by Daylight: Cursed Legacy chapter to be a generally great addition to the experience. It has two really awesome characters to use, whether you’re trying to survive out there or perhaps kill those that are attempting to escape. The new perks are very neat, and do alter gameplay quite a bit. I loved the visuals they presented here for both of them, and that’s carried to the awesome map that gets added to the game.

This area is called the “Sanctum of Wrath” which has such cool structures and taller grass to hide in at a standing height. In general, this is a really good option for those looking to mix things up. They play uniquely, while looking fresh and it’s a very distinct addition to a title that already offers so much. It’s surprising that they can continue to be fresh with what’s added to this.
