Side by Side Comparison Technical Notes
There are actually some fairly good resolution targets for what Elden Ring aims to achieve. Definitely something it should be able to hit for either Series consoles and while it does, it’s the frame rate that suffers. It’s not quite bad all of the time and I highly suggest deploying a VRR and or Game Mode feature from your TV for an optimal time.

With that, the Xbox Series X is aiming to get a native 4k resolution experience, with performance mode being dynamic there. It looks visually impressive, but does suffer from some performance problems where it can dip into the 50fps range at times. The quality mode suffers a bit more going to around 45fps at times.

Keep in mind this is variable and I tried to present details that feel fair for what is being achieved here. When it comes the Xbox Series S the resolution is paired down but still hits an impressive 1440p. There’s dynamic resolution at play for the performance mode but it’s not much of a dip. The frame rate situation is about the same here as it is for the Xbox Series X which is quite interesting.
