Here are the specific details in regards to the improvements that have been made for the Fallout 3 Xbox Series X upgrade. It features no Auto HDR support with a 4k resolution at 60fps. These are inherited from the Xbox One X Enhancement it received.

Past that, it also received a Xbox Series X FPS Boost that enabled the change from 30fps to 60fps by default with no changes to the quality. It should smoothly hit these targets with the extra power that is present. It is worth nothing that most games do receive a standard 16x anisotropic filtering through Xbox Backwards Compatibility.

Those are the key details that are present. This game is not Optimized on the platform, meaning it wasn’t specifically adjusted for the platform and instead received these upgrades through either inheriting it from the previous generation or automatically. A video showcasing this is found below, alongside a photo representing the game.

Description/Synopsis
The ultimate wasteland adventure continues to deliver years later featuring a range of unique environments to explore. Whether you’re venturing to what remains of America’s capital for the first time, or revisiting this is one gem of a RPG experience. It is beloved by many with deep story choices that can completely alter what’s left of this decaying world.

From the quaint spot of Megatown to the crumbling downtown core this has it all. Make friends, gather companions and try to survive in a world where basically everything wants to eliminate you. This is all in an effort to find out what happened to your father, a deeper narrative within the wild one that you create as you set forth to discover what’s out there.

It’s really quite expansive as a core game and then that’s taken further with large scale DLC that changes things to the highest degree. There’s so much to do, so many places to visit and of course a range of weapons to use with the special VATS system that’s present. A wild journey that continues to thrill so many years later in so many ways. You’ll never guess what sort of setup you may go for next and that just straight up continues to keep this game so specially fresh.

Hopefully you found these details helpful in regards to understanding how this game is running on the platform. Whether that’s in the boosted resolution (visual fidelity) that’s provided in the filtering, or just generally the extra performance that assists with the Fallout 3 frame rate to keep it running smoothly.

Certainly great to see what these games can provide on the latest console platform that features full backwards compatible support and will see many new titles release over its lifespan. It should be exciting to see what’s to come for the consoles and how much gaming will change over this generation.

To summarize these were the details on if Fallout 3 can run on Xbox Series X/S console platforms. You can read a review of a related title below, or check out a game hub for further coverage as well. Don’t forget to check out the video content to see the game in action.
