Side by Side Comparison Technical Notes
This is a scenario I’ve wanted to do a comparison of for quite awhile, with FPS Boost having been applied to both versions I thought this was probably the best time to do so. With the original version we’re getting a lower resolution at 720p which certainly does look jagged at times but I do feel that the aesthetic actually holds up decently well. It has a very moody type of atmosphere that I most certainly enjoy.

There’s no HDR support for it, and now we have the benefit of 60fps through the FPS Boost update that is automatically applied. It’s very smooth, and you see that reflected within cutscenes or even splitscreen action. When it comes to Ultimate Edition the 1080p works fine and has a remaster it definitely is visually improved in many ways. The biggest being textures, but there are some slower asset loading points and cutscenes are about the same and quite visually impressive.

At the same time, a resolution improvement would be welcomed. With that, you get 60fps now across the experience with the automatically applied FPS Boost. The multiplayer already ran at that level, but the campaign didn’t and now it does. There’s also Auto HDR support that improves the quality further.

Description/Synopsis
Follow Marcus Fenix and Delta Squad as they continue to battle against the Locust Horde that continues to ravage their world. There is now a hope, and the team is fighting to collect that while digging deeper into the past of the way. It’s an epic start to this now massive franchise that continues to fable the journey of conquest against these subterranean monsters that have come above.

It’s got a strong single player campaign that has coop support and then also an expansive multiplayer offering to battle within that keeps the action going. Good luck surviving the horrors that now live on the service, and the powerful General Raam that looms in the distance.

Hopefully the comparison was helpful in understanding the changes that are being presented between these options. It can help greatly to have a quick visual presentation that’s lined up for a faster viewing.

This side by side comparison should really provide all of the info you need to know when it comes to matching up these choices and giving you the quick facts to see why they’re being placed up against one another.
