Side by Side Comparison Technical Notes
This is a comparison of what the next gen version of Grand Theft Auto 5 has to offer whether you’re on the Xbox Series X or Playstation 5 console platforms. The site does have reference materials for say the Xbox Series S or the Xbox’s console platform versus older iterations so those can be easily searched.

For now, this is a high end look at the console side of things for GTA going into its third generation iteration. Both consoles run the game practically identically, and it’s almost a bit of a shame as surely more power is present either way to push this older game further. The biggest change here is the addition of multiple graphics options and improvements to some textures alongside lighting upgrades that shine best with fire.

Fidelity mode provides a native 4k resolution at 30fps. The Fidelity and Performance RT modes provide ray tracing, but only in the form of very lightly upgraded shadows. It’s not really too noticeable which is a shame. Going back to Performance RT you get a 1440p resolution at 60fps. Then there’s Performance which is 1440p at 60fps. I personally preferred the Performance mode.

I didn’t find any sort of issues with how the game ran on either platform after extended hours of streams on both for the GTA Online experience. You may notice some shadow elements aren’t full lined up. In the video the time of day is also a factor into how it looks, but they’re practically the same in what they target, and again I do feel there was more these consoles could put out.

Description/Synopsis
The magic that is Grand Theft Auto V continues to capture the time and attendance of players everywhere. It’s actually rather interesting that this experience is something that older players continue to dive into and new ones are trying it for the first time, all the time.

With this iteration there is a shift where the GTA Online portion of the game is at the front of the experience no matter which tier you buy for it. Story is a secondary tab, and a premium offering. It’s quite an interesting shift as the story content used to be the highlighted portion of what this game had to offer but that has changed at this point.

The narrative hasn’t been changed, although some visuals have been improved here. The online content continues to get updated with fresh adjustments and updates to keep folks interested that play this month after month. The general goal across the title is to make your mark on the open world city whether that’s by walking about or driving and even flying.

If you’re feeling aquatic, take to the beaches and boats for a ride on the waves. It’s wild, over the top and something that has provided countless hours of excitement for so many differing players out there that enjoy the thrills of this ever expanding scenario and setup. From campaign to online multiplayer, the experience is always awaiting you.

Hopefully the comparison was helpful in understanding the changes that are being presented between these options. It can help greatly to have a quick visual presentation that’s lined up for a faster viewing.

This side by side comparison should really provide all of the info you need to know when it comes to matching up these choices and giving you the quick facts to see why they’re being placed up against one another.
