Psychonauts 2 Unboxing Press Package

It was really exciting to see a mysterious package arrive, partially because getting something in the mail is always cool but mostly because it was Psychonauts 2 oriented! This was a special press package that was sent over from Xbox in order to celebrate the release of the latest entry in the series. The tie in with Xbox is that Double Fine is now part of the overall first party and this is their first release under the banner.

It was of course a very well done game as you can read my review of it below or even look it up online as it’s been highly praised from a critical perspective. Whatever the case, this was a really neat package to receive and I’ll go over the details as to what’s included in this. Firstly, this had a neatly detailed box that opened up to large signs.

These signs had quirky writing on them, that was difficult to read, without the aid of a special device. This is actually the first sort of mystery focused bundle I’ve received thinking back. I had to solve the brain to unlock its contents, though this was as simple as putting on the incredibly awesome Raz goggles in order to read the hidden message. It’s honestly way cooler to see this all on the video, but I’ll continue to describe the contents of course.

Once the page is read it reveals three one month Xbox Game Pass codes, which I’ll be distributing through livestreams on the Skycaptin5 Youtube Channel in the near future. It also gives the access code which is “MIND”, which can then be used on the padlock to access the brain! The brain had some items such as pins based on Raz’s abilities, gummy treats which were mini brains and delicious.

Finally there was also a flipbook and a signature Psychonaut pin as I’m now a certified member of the team which is awesome. There was something also hidden within the box, which was Raz’s signature satchel which is seriously incredible and so authentic to the series. Pair the goggles with the satchel and pin, then I’m good to go to dive into the world of the mind!

That was a really neat thing to receive and it pairs with what was such a special game to play, one I do highly suggest checking out on the platforms it’s available for. I’m sure you’ll have a blast and be charmed by its story. That summarizes the package and gives context into what was included.
