The Scribblenauts Mega Pack is one awesome bundle of creativity putting together two of my favorite games in one little pack. The two titles are Scribblenauts Unlimited and Scribblenauts Unmasked DC Heroes. The games each offer something different yet work together with Unmasked being basically a direct sequel to Unlimited.

The games have been given tweaks to become a singular package with a central hub to switch between either of them. Playing in Scribblenauts Unlimited the goal is to help your twin sister as she's been given a sort of curse.

You accomplish this by moving from area to area solving problems and working through the levels. You collect Starites for a quest completion or by gathering enough shards. You're then able to unlock additional sections of the map and get further towards your goal.

In Unmasked you're joined by the DC Heroes as a doppelganger is causing mischief. You'll need to work with the many, many heroes of the DC Universe and battle against crime. Work through many stories across the distinct parts of the universe and help those heroes, or just work the streets against a number of lower level villains.

Gameplay

The visuals are great, the art style that is cartoon-like looks awesome. It all holds up well despite having released a number of years back. The tweaks to the titles keep them modern and the local coop mode is great for those that want to play with another. The integration of the UI with the controller is excellent, it handles well with many shortcuts.

You're easily able to pull up a wheel and build words to create items or attach adjectives to alter the things you make or see. There's a ton of depth there and it's impressive just how in-depth the choices are. The puzzles are fair with some providing a solid challenge, this is a great learning tool and it's appropriate for all ages. Both games handle well, while looking as though they just freshly released today.

The Conclusion

The Scribblenauts Mega Pack provides two awesome word based games that are perfect for any age. They provide a good challenge in that you may need to get creative in order to solve problems. You get a situation presented to you, and you need to get creative with words to solve the problems.

I found Unlimited to be the better of the two after all these years, but if you're a DC fan then Unmasked will be incredible. This package provides countless hours of gameplay whether you're enjoying it alone or with another. The narrative is sold, the use of creativity is at a max and it's just fun to play either of the games.
