With 2019 wrapping up right away, it's time to take a look at the biggest games of 2020. Or, at least the ones that look the most interesting. The games come from a variety of platforms and genres presenting what I feel are the most exciting game releases to look out for over the upcoming year.

These titles are also picked based on that they most likely will be releasing over the next year. The same was thought for the list last year and some of those were still held back. Delays do happen, but I feel that most of these are a lock. That's may be why some are included, I also like to pick some strange ones as it presents more variety. With that, here are the top 10 most anticipated games of 2020.

#10: Journey to the Savage Planet

This is a very wacky sort of adventure game with some puzzle type elements to it. I got to check it out at E3 this past year and just had free reign to look around. Its open world, and bizarre in what it provides. It’s a strange sci-fi experience with a focus on exploration and discovery since hidden alien structures can be found.

#9: Minecraft Dungeons

I’m actually really excited about this one as it could be an awesome title rich with replayability. I adore Minecraft in general, and adding cooperative dungeon crawling to that does make sense. I’m really looking forward to truly diving into what this provides as it could be a gem of the next year.
Minecraft Dungeons 2020

#8: Ghost of Tsushima

This definitely looks really interesting, I haven’t looked into it too much but I’ve liked what I’ve seen of it thus far. The visuals are gorgeous, with an interesting aesthetic and the general setting looks really enticing.

#7: DOOM Eternal

The last DOOM was just straight up badass action so I can’t wait to go Eternal with a fresh setting and what seems to just be an expansion upon the epic gameplay of the first. I can’t wait to sink my teeth into this, and maybe even demons, or at least the teeth of the chainsaw. It was neat to play at E3, liked the larger scale to the areas so I’m looking forward to what it provides.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga 2020

#6: LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

The entirety of Star Wars, all in one massive game. From what I saw at E3 they’re taking some bold steps with this entry and I can’t wait to see what this new style of gameplay provides. It seems like the developers are really passionate about this, and so am I. I played the first one when I was rather young and I believe every LEGO game that came after this so I’m straight up hyped about what this could provide.

#5: Dying Light 2

Another E3 title, or well one I’ve seen at two different E3 years and it’s looking good. This will present a massive open world to explore and traverse through with smooth ease. There are of course zombies present, you’ll need to slaughter those in the most gruesome of ways possible. The world also dynamically is shifted based on choices, and that massively changes how you can interact with this world.

#4: Marvel’s Avengers

From what I’ve seen at E3 this could be a really fun game to play, it takes the Marvel heroes we love and throws them together in what appears to be a large scale experience. It’ll be very interesting to see what the end product is like, and how it grows post-launch as well. It’s very promising, but one that will have many expectations that follow it.

#3: Animal Crossing: New Horizons

I love Animal Crossing, and it’s been rough waiting for the next true follow-up so I’m really excited for what it brings on the Nintendo Switch. I imagine it’ll be like the past titles but larger than ever before with more to do. I can’t wait, possibly my soul key game to play on the Nintendo Switch as that console really doesn’t draw me in.
Halo Infinite 2020

#2: Cyberpunk 2077

The follow-up to the Witcher, one of the defining games of the generation and perhaps one of the best of all time. The world of Cyberpunk looks awesome, I also am really into cyberpunk in general so that’s another bonus for me. They’ve crafted a very customizable game and from what I saw at E3 I’m excited to see if they can deliver. We certainly do know Keanu will be enough for us with this one.

#1: Halo Infinite

I’m a huge Halo fan, always have been. It’s been a long time since we got a main entry in the franchise and with this being a launch title for Xbox Series X the expectations will be insanely high for it. I can’t wait to see the next step of the Master Chief journey as they’re splashing some nostalgia with how they’ve been teasing this one so far. I hope it’s good enough to get me off the Master Chief Collection.

Those are the top 10 most anticipated games of 2020 featuring a wide range of titles, perhaps some surprises as well. Hopefully a good variety, showcasing something distinct you might want to watch out for in the coming year.
