Xbox Series X & Xbox Series S Best Capture Cards

When it comes to capturing gameplay on Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S there are a few methods for being able to best present what you’re playing. These range from simplistic options to more complex choices.

The best capture cards will give you the best quality and I’ll be going over some options alongside what I personally use to present a wide range of games whether that’s in straight forward videos or also livestreaming.

Whatever the case, there are many choices out there to pick from. Just keep in mind that high frame rate options are still limited for choices and the online services you place content still don’t even really support 120fps yet which is tiresome.

#1: No Capture Card
It might sound odd, but you don’t necessarily need a capture card on the modern console Xbox platforms to capture what you’re playing. You can use the built in Xbox DVR to capture some gameplay really easily but it’ll be limited. You can however extended that by plugging in an external hard which will allow recording of up to one hour at 4k 60fps with HDR if so chosen. Just keep in mind this method is not very reliable.

#2: AverMedia GC573 Live Gamer 4k
This is actually the one I use providing 4k 60fps with HDR if chosen. It’s an internal PC option so keep that in mind but it delivers great quality and despite some initial firmware issues it runs very smoothly for me now. It grants high quality access and it’s got some cool RGB lights on it which is nice I guess. The video above actually shows this one in action.

#3: Elgato Game Capture 4k60 Pro MK 2
This is another 4k 60fps offering with HDR if chosen. It’s the Elgato internal offering for a PC if you enjoy this brand.

#4: Elgato Game Capture 4k60 S+
This offering from Elgato once against provides 4k 60fps capture with HDR if chosen but it’s an external offering to plug into a PC and it can be used with a SD card to get the footage. No high resolution passthrough is an issue with this one, keep that in mind.

My selections were somewhat limited here but I wanted to show the best quality offerings out there right now to actually get a 4k 60fps resolution quality of your games which is becoming quite a standard. There are other lower resolution capturing devices out there to choose from but I feel these most adequately, at least for now present your games in the best of light.
