Some time has passed, and the sisters Elsa (Idina Menzel) and Anna (Kristen Bell) find themselves in a good spot. The kingdom is going along well, and both are enjoying a more casual time after the events of their first adventure.

Things are however not meant to last as Elsa has been hearing a calling, and the group including their close friends embark on another journey. This is one to the far north in order to uncover its secrets, and discover the past. It’s an interesting tale layered with a higher level of maturity, while retaining the elements that made the first so compelling to so many.

It features more complex songs, yet ones that weren’t necessarily as memorable. There are some unique themes, and an interesting sense of progression as everyone gets a moment to shine. Even Olaf (Josh Gad) is back, and not nearly as annoying as he once was.

Frozen II Special Features

The Frozen II Blu-Ray comes with a number of special features. These are available to view on the traditional Blu-Ray disc as one package. They include the following selections that can be viewed as a bundle or individually. "Outtakes”, “Deleted Scenes”, “Did You Know???”, “Music Videos” and a number of creative type showcases.

Oh, and a sing along version of the film as well so I’m sure that’ll be a hit for the younger audience out there. It has an impressive quantity of content, and neat context into elements that didn’t make it into this one. I would have liked a deeper look at the production behind the scenes creatively, but it gave some glimpses at the vocal talent and some interviews with the directors of this picture.

The Conclusion

The Frozen II Blu-Ray package is actually packed with extra content to help provide a deeper understanding of what didn’t make it into this great sequel. I really did feel that this was an improvement upon the original providing some good laughs and charming moments. It carried some beautiful animation work, and a nice level of maturity over the original outing.

The characters felt as though they had more dynamic story lines, and there was some good action in it. It definitely provided some excitement, and I’m sure there’s an audience out there that will love the inclusion of the sing a long option with this package.
