Head down to the empty plot of land that will eventually become, your dream amusement park. In Meeple Land you’re attempting to raise a park by using the flow of meeples that show up, alongside taking advantage of the various preset pieces available.

You’ll need to be smart in your layout as the space is limited, and you want to maximize your points by making sure the paths from tiles do end up connecting. Furthermore, the addition of smart extra attractions to your various rides will be a necessity in order to really boost your gains. The information I’m noting may be sort of throwing you right into the action, but it definitely makes sense as you go to play and it gives a fair outline for what the just of this experience is like.

You’ll all be taking a setup mat, an entrance and a score sheet. Currency is divided up based on the player’s starting position and then the coins you get there after adjust accordingly. You’re aiming to buy up certain attractions for your mat and are attempting to line them up in a strategic way.

You’ll get visitor meeples on buses, and you’ll have to be smart in how you use them in order to fill your park up. Every turn adjusts elements such as the coins you receive and the passengers you get on the buses. You’ll be buying these attraction tiles, advertising or even passing along. These elements are of course explained within the game’s rules, and I didn’t find the concepts too hard to pick up on when going to play.
Meeple Land Board Game
The Board/Pieces
First off, this game features some really lovely artwork. It’s full of detail, and carries a distinct style. I didn’t think they’d be able to emulate the feeling of a park builder in a board format, but I thought they did very well here. There are a ton of different pieces and items you get to use throughout your journey to building a fun park.

That includes the likes of 124 Meeples, seventeen tickets and over one hundred tile options. That’s not even including all of the smaller things such as the fifty-two coins and little gates you put together. It’s all quite fantastic, feeling as though it was created with quality materials. It really does seem very clean, and well put together from an aesthetic angle.

The Conclusion

Meeple Land is a great amusement park building experience that will have players using creativity, and tactical planning to come out on top. It takes some solid strategy, but is also rather easy to pick-up. It provides a decent amount of game time per session, being something I’m sure many will enjoy if they like this type of gaming style.

I typically play this sort of thing in a virtual game like space, and to have a board game equivalent is quite wonderful and definitely a welcomed surprise. I had no idea I’d enjoy the game as much as I did, but it’s very well put together for sure. It’s certainly something to put into rotation or enjoyment as it looks great and plays well providing a rather entertaining board game experience.
