Like the game, this art book was shockingly well done and you can see that there was a lot of love put behind this art focused enhancement to your overall experience. If you’ve played the game and want to see more of the work behind it then I highly suggest this option. It really is quite a complex and full offering that dives deep into the elements behind this particular game. This is of course a title that’s based on the Guardians of the Galaxy, a Marvel property.
This doesn’t really have anything to do with the popular MCU movies and instead focuses on more of the comic property while being an original story within that type of universe. It was a superbly well done game and this art book really adds to what I experienced while playing. This is also perhaps the most comprehensive “art of” books with detailed writings and game renderings matched with the original artistic version.
It’s quite well done and very expansive with a ton of information jammed beside these gorgeous art pieces. What a magical journey going through this book was. I thoroughly enjoyed it and felt I learned a lot more about the behind the scenes on how so many of the characters came to life. It dives into unique drawings for concepts on the characters, planets and weapons that were used throughout the game. It’s really neat.
This is a hardcover option with very distinct, large printed art pieces. It’s a bit different from similar books with this one providing more of a square design that really helps the layout to offer the maximum amount of space to show vast covering of the work in both a visual sense and also within the written word.
It really is large in scale and generally quite visually impressive. I loved the aesthetic of the layout and in general how it looks. It really adds a lot to what the game provided and I certainly felt as though I learned more about what I played which is always a fun type of expansion for me to witness.
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Art of the Game is a perfect companion to the game diving deep behind the designs and locations you visit within the many worlds this experience covers. You really get the whole package here from impressive visual displays to more practical in-game types of renders.
You get to see many iterations of the main characters and understand the approach they were using to achieve the final design. It’s very fascinating as so many characters could have looked entirely different. There were some seriously freaky looking Groot designs that might haunt my dreams forever.
Whatever the case, it’s quite fascinating and I feel that if you enjoyed the game and want to learn more or just get a tad more out of the art style then this version is great for you. I thoroughly enjoyed the game and now had fun learning even more about what designs and choices were made. This sort of thing is really neat and does add a lot to my experience.
