Details & Highlights
This battle starts with our poor toad friend getting corrupted by a creature. At that point you have to complete a decently long chase sequence. If you fail you’ll need to restart it all.

The fight itself is two stages, but you don’t get a checkpoint for either of them. I suggest having health, and fireballs equipped. Take note of the blue energy crystal to the right, that will be helpful. I stood there and spammed fireballs at the toad. Then, went along the top of the walls to jump and do slash attacks. Whenever the toad shoots fireballs at you, burst send them back for lots of damage. After a short while or trying these attacks the toad will send water down, make sure you heal prior to that as there isn’t land afterwards.

Now, this gets aquatic. Dip around in the water using the burst ability, and then burst into the blue crystal for energy. Go to the side of the water where the toad isn’t and burst out of the water throwing fireballs, spam that. You can also swim around, and burst send his missiles back at him. You need to dodge the dark blue projectiles he sends at you and if he sucks in the water burst out of the water and huge the wall outside of it. Just keeping repeating these methods and you got this easily. There’s also a video of this below as well for additional assistance. If you need a visual aid, the video below showcases the boss battle. It is available at 45:55 for the chase and 46:57 for the actual battle as a time stamp. I hope you found this helpful, good luck your journey in this sequel game.
