Shenmue III has a special easter egg that somewhat celebrates its origins, or at least the publishing group behind the series when it first launched. This is an interesting easter egg to find that might be easily noticeable, or perhaps simply missed if you’re not looking for it while playing. This is something you find a little into the story, when you’re visiting the Man Yuan Temple after dealing with some thugs.
Details & Highlights
This takes place after you’ve visited the area Shenhua has sent you to, it’s a bit after dealing with some thugs. You’ll eventually be told to head towards the Man Yuan Temple, an area with lots of bamboo in front of it.
It’s right beside the fishing area, and close to the Village Square. You’ll need to talk to the resident monk and be taken into a back room. Here you’re supposed to find out lost information, and have to interact with photos. Ignore doing that for now and head straight across from the door you just entered automatically through a cutscene. At the far end of the room right before you turn right into the next room is a sort of desk.
On the right side of that desk you can aim in and pull that open to explore what lies within. That is of course the somewhat well known Sega Saturn. There’s a voice line and that’s about it, it’s neat to see I suppose. Something to take a look at, it’s also shown in the image above.
