Minecraft 10 Year Anniversary Details & What to Expect

Minecraft has hit its 10th anniversary as of May 17, 2019 and with that comes some celebration type events. The first thing to note is that you can now go and play Minecraft Classic in the browser. This is a version that takes you all the way back to the humble beginnings of the series. Fans are also being asked to send out some story messages with #MinecraftMemories and to check out what others are saying out there online.

There are also some big announcements that will come as a surprise during the day of the anniversary. If announcements aren’t cool enough, you can get 50% off the actual game of Minecraft, 10% off of select marketplace items and take 25% off any of the Minecraft merch online. To build on this celebration further you can also download a free map that is massive and filled with little easter eggs. You’ll be able to grab this whether you’re on Bedrock or Java edition.

That’s some exciting content for sure, the surprises should be fun. It’s also worth noting that the Village and Pillage update just dropped with a massive selection of new items. You can check those out in our general franchise hub below or see what’s included within the patch notes listing.
