Minecraft Annie: The Rise of Londinium Review

The Annie: The Rise of Londinium adventure world is a Minecraft community store puzzle map that has a neat concept, but is quite buggy at times. You are a test subject for a lab who must travel to a village from the past to retrieve lost data files that the company needs. However, not all the files are in the same period of time and you must complete tasks from the townspeople in order to get the files. Thus each time you finish all the tasks in a time period, you have to go back to the lab and teleport to a new one. The lab gives you an A.I. called AnnIe to help you through the map and give you hints. Hidden near or in the towns is a button you can press in order to get a different side of the story. It’s the same village each time, but a few years in the future as you progress to provide a completely different environment to work through. This mostly comes down to a fetch, craft or collect type of scenario since it’s not combat focused.

The Conclusion

Sometimes, when you tried to ‘talk’ to NPC people, they wouldn’t respond. Everyone in our group of four would left click or punch them to no avail. Usually, a few minutes later, it would work and we could continue. It’s also extremely buggy in multiplayer. If someone joined in during a quest, and then you finished it, the button sometimes wouldn’t appear. If it gives you items for a quest, and another person is on a previous time period or not in the area, it’s possible for them to receive the items that you need for the current quest. This is due to random assignment and is not good, especially if the person who got the items is taking a short break. That aside, it was still a decent map which an interesting premise. The ending was also ominous as well which could build towards an interesting second part.
