The Minecraft Block and Seek is a Store Community World that offers a completely fresh adventure within the game. Created by Polymaps this pack brings the well known game type to local matches. Block and Seek is a variation on the ever popular prop hunt. Here players are sorted to teams with one being a collection of blocks from the game and others being hunters which search for those that are hiding. The searchers will need to locate and then take out the props giving them some time to possibly escape though that is rather difficult. The maps are appropriate in size for the quantity of players that are present in local lobbies and it's great to see such a fun mode captured so well.
Within the pack there are four distinct levels available that each provide a distinct biome and lots of depth. These were well designed, fun to play and it all worked out so well. Players as props can throw cakes to distract, but it would have also been nice to have a prop change option in some form. For hunters the chicken aspect is interesting where you can throw one as a guide to find others, but I could see how some might find it annoying. Luckily there are a number of easy to use switch options before each match starts to select how games will go. It's basically an easy settings area lobby that players go to before starting another game.
This Block and Seek from Polymaps is an impressive take on the well known game type in Minecraft. It was a blast to play in a group and I'm sure everyone that you may Minecraft with will get a kick out of it. It's a great party game for a group and it works fine with smaller player quantities as the maps are proper in size for this. There's a good selection of props present that you can end up with and my only complaint there would be a locking option for better lining up. That aside, this is a great pack for those that want a fun and easy to setup game of Block and Seek.
