Minecraft Dinosaur Island Review

The Minecraft Dinosaur Island is a Store Community World that offers a completely fresh adventure within the game. Created by PixelHeads this is actually a rather lengthy and well developed adventure. Things start off simple as you take a submarine over to this magical land and get a quest. You need to find this a scientist within a mystical dinosaur facility and take on the creatures along the way. It's got some well crafted elements on how the world changes as you progress such as an explosion altering the path or an exciting rail system pushing you along. It's a linear level in how it guides you around, but there are some secrets to explore along the way. This is great as it's hard to get lost with easy markings to help.

There are some moments where you get a villager you have to guide which works mostly well and we only had some minor issues getting the first one you come across going. There's an interesting story here as there's a bigger thing going on and from a narrative standpoint it was definitely decently complex, at least in comparison to what we've played thus far on the community store. The level was well crafted from interesting facilities to the ruins that circled it. I would have perhaps liked to see some more dinosaurs present, but the selection was fine as were the other people you come across.

The Conclusion

This Dinosaur Island from PixelHeads was well crafted providing a nice and long story which is something we haven't really seen thus far. There's a decent selection of dinosaurs to take on and many custom mobs to be found throughout. You can even tame some of them at a point and with that comes some custom items. It was a great effort with a quality story that you can easily enjoy by yourself or with a group. We had a blast working through the level and I was impressed by the scale of the level. It had an interesting set of scenes from inside laboratories to ancient ruins and a special little village. This Dinosaur Island level was certainly interesting and the care in custom items for it was appreciated.
