The Minecraft Santa Quest is a Store Community World that offers a completely fresh adventure within the game. Created by Lifeboat this pack provides a mission where you need to save Christmas. Santa has recruited you via a letter, and you must rush over to assist him. It’s a narrative driven adventure that’s roughly an hour in length. It presents an open world style, with a linear sense of progression.

You will have a series of goals, as you move around the map to complete objectives. It starts out with good deeds, then has you go the magical base of operations for Santa Clause. It’s actually an interesting setup, but one I felt they could have taken further. It has some really neat elements such as presents delivery, and the train was neat as well. I also can’t forget the rather insane musical number that caps this off. It was quite something, and this is likely a fine option for some seasonal play.

I also quite liked the aesthetics of the world. It felt large, but at the same time many rooms were just empty and they could have been closed off better. Sort of kills the immersion to enter an empty room, at least block up the doors. There were some really neat custom designs with the characters, and some of the items you interact with. We’re starting to see some truly creative builds from this marketplace now. Minecraft Santa Quest Edition Review

The Conclusion

This Santa Quest from Lifeboat is a generally solid map, it presents a large world and a number of custom entities to deal with on your mission to save Christmas. It definitely provides an interesting narrative, that perhaps could have been taken further.

It’s a quality piece of content and I enjoyed working through it. The gingerbread men were fun to eliminate, as was using the spear candy cane to do so. The model work was excellent for the custom items you get to use, and they had fun with this one.

The present delivery was neat, and the train was fun though could have used support for multiple players. The yeti was also cool, but we never really get closure there which was disappointing story wise. A good pack, fits the season well and provides a good hour of gameplay or so depending on how fast you progress through it.
