One of the oldest items in Minecraft, the sign has always been there and has been recently updated with new options. That's right, the Minecraft sign colors, wood types and crafting options have expanded greatly.
To start, if you're looking at color signs in Minecraft use the symbol § followed by anything within 0-9 on consoles and on PC the symbol § followed by 0-9 along with a-f for various options. To clarify, place the symbol right beside any of the numbers or letters to create different text colors. Following that, the wood options have been expanded upon. You can see that in the image below. The sign wood types are as follows; Oak, Spruce, Birch, Jungle, Acacia and Dark Oak.
Uses and Other Details:
To craft a sign you'll need to first have the supplies which consist of six matching planks and a single stick. The traditional crafting recipe is; Plank | Plank | Plank followed by Plank | Plank | Plank and finished with | Empty | Stick | Empty. Fairly easy to follow, the first line of three of course being the top row and so forth. Not very difficult, the end result is always three signs from this formula.
You can place them in the ground or against walls and write text on them. It's easy to do and helpful for reference. They can also be used for decorative reasons within the world on designs or as part of chairs mostly. The axe is the fastest way to break them, but by hand works too. They can be stacked in piles of up to sixteen. Hopefully you found this helpful, you can read about landscaping below or check out our hub for further coverage.
