You might wonder what exactly a "Smithing Table" does in Minecraft and it's rather simple. These are special work station blocks that are used for tools and certain items production. They’re very specific in nature, yet neat to use within the game to create special designs. The Smithing tables can be broken with any tool, but axes are the quickest in doing so.
These are easy to craft items requiring iron ingots and wood planks in order to create them. You can find Smithing tables naturally generating within toolsmith houses of the villages. For a fun fact, the table can be used as fuel within a furnace to smelt 1.5 items. That is, if you’re desperate to cook something in there I suppose. More details and crafting guide below.
Uses and Other Details:
To essentially summarize, the latest item is mostly decorative in nature. It provides functionality to customize your tool crafting experience within the game. To use you’ll open the table up like usual and it’ll contain slots. You can choose from a variety of options for crafting. When selected, you’ll get a preview of the item after the materials have been applied. Once you’re happy, just take the preview and you’ll have what you wanted to create. Really interesting that these blocks appeared with no initial functionality and later received it.
The Smithing table crafting creation is as follows. The top row; Iron Ingot | Iron Ingot | Blank, second row is Wood Plank | Wood Plank | Blank, and the third row is Wood Plank | Wood Plank | Blank. Keep in mind that the wood planks can be of any combination for this particular creation. You collect the ingots by smelting iron ore to produce them.
