Minecraft Star Wars: Path of the Jedi Review

The Minecraft Star Wars: Path of the Jedi is a Store Community World that offers a completely fresh adventure within the game. Created by Spark Universe this pack provides the journey one would take to become a Jedi Knight within The Clone Wars era. You start this package by heading into the caves on Ilum to gather yourself a special Kyber crystal.

Once that is collected you’re sent onto a special ship in order to craft or lightsaber and then also your very own astromech droid. Upon completion you do very light training and then head out to do some adventures setup from within the Jedi Temple. You’ll meet iconic heroes such as Anakin Skywalker or even Yoda.

They send you off on missions and these vary in quality. There’s something like the Dreadnaught mission which was excellent. Then there are missions like Yoda’s which is a good half hour of moving boxes. The latter of which is a dreadful time and insanely boring, I pondered why this was part of the package.

The whole thing is about two hours, the younger ones likely taking longer and probably even being more frustrated at the box moving puzzles as that was wildly annoying. It definitely has some highlight moments, particularly at the start but by the end I was sort of just desiring more from this one.

The Conclusion

This Star Wars: Path of the Jedi from Spark Universe is an okay map that offers a strong starting point and then spirals deeply off into being disappointing. Basically a good quarter to third of this is just moving boxes and that was not fun.

I would have much rather had a tighter pack with more limited box moving. I’m literal here and not exaggerating about the boxes, that part sucked. They nailed the style of the worlds, capturing Star Wars very well. You get an excellent selection of Star Wars skins to use and there are some cool unlocks within The Archives which is wasted space.

This pack had much more potential and feels like a small slice of excitement to something that could have been far greater. Coming from the Dungeons & Dragons pack in particularly, this one feels weak. Building a lightsaber and droid is cool, but the latter you never use and as a Jedi Knight I felt weak as well.
