Minecraft Stranded in Space Review

The Minecraft Stranded in Space is a Store Community World that offers a completely fresh adventure within the game. Created by Jigarbov this pack provides a quick story based segment and then survival. The general plot is that you're under attack and you need to get off your ship. While this is happening it's best to gather what supplies you can and then to escape using the drop pod. It's a fairly well designed ship and an interesting way to get things started.

From there you're dropped on this large open area, there are some variations within the environment. You're given helpful instruction type books and just left to your own devices. I could see this being slightly harder for some of the younger audience to get into. I also wasn't quite sure what I was doing initially once I had dropped. You're basically attempting to restore your ship by following a series of maps and completing challenges to gather the required resources. You build the items on a neat ramp area, including a rover which was fun. There's was an effort in creating custom enemies as you see a wide range of mob creatures out there. This aspect does add a layer of difficulty as you'll be attacked quite often as you attempt to survive.

The Conclusion

This Stranded in Space from Jigarbov is a solid map, it presents a decent sized place to survive within. You do get a general goal, with this being a freer map in terms of what you're attempting accomplish. You're not exactly pushed to do anything and you can just take in the area if you'd like to. It's a rather dark space at times, this adds to the difficulty that I'm not sure will be for everyone.

There are some neat weapons present and a number of customized items to collect as you adventure around. I definitely appreciated the custom items added into this world. It has a neat concept and I certainly like the idea of it. The goal is distinct and it's a fun simulation for survival in a new place. I just wish there was more generally going on as it's quite open and somewhat feels empty at times.
