Minecraft Wildlife Savanna Review

The Minecraft Wildlife Savanna is a Store Community World that offers a completely fresh adventure within the game. Created by PixelHeads this pack provides an open safari adventure with some great creatures. The definite highlight of this pack are the animals, they've done a fantastic job of adding some incredible new creatures. Mojang needs to honestly work with them right away to get these new animals included in the vanilla game. There are Ostriches; Lions, Zebras, Elephants, Hyenas and Hippos to name a few.

They're all beautifully detailed and while it initially looked like the animals could be used elsewhere it seems that the pack is locked to the level. That's rather disappointing as a large part of the appeal would be to use the resource and behavior packs on other levels. The level itself was well crafted with various safari type zones that each carry a special sort of almost activity to take part in. This area seems to be more about exploration as opposed to doing something so it's more of a fun group visit. There's a special jeep to accompany this as four players can hop in to drive around. I would personally suggest using the Ostriches as they can fly fairly far and high being awesome vehicles. The pack also includes a few skins to use that are themed to the area and fairly well designed.

The Conclusion

This Wildlife Savanna from PixelHeads brought some really unique animals to the game that I'd love to see present in other areas. That being said, I didn't find much depth here aside from the well crafted island and there isn't much to do. It's got some neat designs and its fun in a group since you can drive the jeep around. I still didn't find enough content in terms of activities so this more of a viewing map instead of being something that will give you a goal. I can see it being an enjoyable drive and ride since the animals are awesome, but you sadly can't take them onto other maps.
