Avengers: Endgame Tony Stark has Gone Full Circle

One of the biggest names in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been left with nothing, drifting out in space. After the horrific battle on Titan against Thanos, Tony Stark (Iron Man) has nothing but despair. It's an interesting state to see the character in after Spider-Man vanished in his arms, as did the other mighty magical heroes he fought with. The former obviously having a bigger impact since they're quite close. He's far from home, his suit has been used up and he's been left greatly injured. He just has half a mask that presents his identity.

In Avengers: Endgame we see Tony Stark drifting out in space on the Benatar recording a last video before what seems like the end. He has no food, water and the oxygen is running out. What's neat, is that he does likely have Nebula with him which is interesting. That aside, when recording the video you get to see a completion of this character going full circle. Left with nothing but a glow in his chest and a pile of scraps, he'll need to get creative. I also find it rather interesting to see a comparison with his quoted "That'll be it. When I drift off, I will dream about you. It's always you.” while looking into the mask of Iron Man. Perhaps being both for Pepper Potts and the suit he wears. On top of that, he's wearing what appears to be the same shirt as he did in the first film and has a very similar look of exhaustion.

There may of course be a savior factor in the form of Rescue (Pepper Potts) with Rocket, or perhaps Captain Marvel but for now the presentation is nothing. It's fascinating to see that despite all of the technology and battles won, that he's now back at basics. This is perhaps the best state of the character, one that has felt great loss and is scared. Left stranded and without a way out, that's when we get to see the best of his marvelous inventions. You got to see that in the very first Iron Man film so many years back.

You saw that again during Iron Man 3 where he had to get back to basics. I believe in Avengers: Endgame we'll see this character at his finest. He's probably not happy about losing and with a new way to fix things he'll stop at nothing to create a plan. To pull the remnants of what's left from a dire situation and get it back together. Whatever does happen, it will most likely be a finale of sorts for the hero and it should be an epic quest in the continued battle against Thanos.
