Crazy Famous Review

Crazy Famous follows this guy that wants to be famous, really famous. He attempts to achieve this by using a trampoline and going into a private American government area. It might have been more effective to show a selection of attempts at the start in a montage of sorts, but it makes sense later on as the background is filled out. This is a rather short film and one that is bizarre for the most part. Anyways, after the stunt he ends up institutionalized meeting some weird characters while he's there. This builds a team around him and they all have some odd quirk.

After hearing one strange soldier like man out he attempts to grasp onto fame one more time. This leads into an escape plan and then it goes from there. It's cohesive for the most part with some straight up strange twists along the way. I had no idea what was going to happen going in and by the end I'm just puzzled. It's a decent watch for sure, but one that you're mostly going along with. Some issues with the group are dealt with and they're an interesting bunch.

For the most part the film looks fine, nothing too crazy for style. I did notice a few rough cuts or other areas that weren't too great. The action scenes were well done and I suppose there's a laugh or two in there.

I'm not sure if it was a straight up comedy or what exactly the goal was in genre theme. I'm not negating anything in that regard, the pacing is fine and if anything it could have been expanded upon. The group definitely had some goals in mind and part of the twists are not getting into much of what's going to happen in the movie.

The Conclusion

This is most certainly be one of the strangest films I've ever viewed, I didn't really have any critical issues with Crazy Famous but was left puzzled by the end. I knew what happened and I was just along for the ride of various occurrences.

The structure was there, performances were fine though some of the rougher spots could have used some more polish. The group of characters were fun to see interact and it was the most functional crazed group I've ever seen in a movie, at least I think.

It could have been longer since it's extremely short and perhaps some expansion on what was most likely the love interest? I will also leave mention that there was just enough expansion on the lead's purpose for wanting to be famous, but a montage at the start might have been more effective to display it with better impact.
