Don't think of this as a definitive ranking for quality, but one to mostly get some suggestions for. These all look rather interesting and are in no particular ranked ordering. The Top 5 Calgary International Film Festival Movies 2018 To Watch. We hope to have reviews for each over the course of the event.

#5: The Sisters Brothers

The headlining film, present at the opening gala event features a stacked cast and interesting source material. The narrative follows brothers Eli and Charlie on task to find an inventive prospector. All the classic elements of the West come together during their journey.

#4: Assassination Nation

A rather interesting concept here, a group of high school friends band together to survive an intense data hack that has apparently enraged everyone in the town. It can get rather violent, or so it has been mentioned.

The Sisters Brothers Still

#3: Supergrid

There's a smuggler that is attempting to get his brother to help him back on the "Grid" to clear a debt. It's a Canadian selection and takes place in a near apocalyptic future.

#2: Under the Silver Lake

This guy named Sam (Andrew Garfield) finds a random woman swimming in his apartment's pool one night. She vanishes the next day so he sets out across LA to find her, there's an odd conspiracy at play as well here.

#1: Alive.

A severely injured man and woman awaken having no idea what happened or what's going on. They have a sadistic caretaker running procedures and with mysterious events in all aspects of their fresh surroundings they try to escape. This was locally shot as well.
