This is a Netflix Original animated series that follows a hardened war horse (voiced by Kimiko Glenn) that is thrust into a magical world of centaurs. It’s a horrifying land to her since it’s so happy, filled with buckets of glee and also characters that sing constantly. It’s funny seeing this horse out of water, attempting to make everything work and to get back to her rider.

It’s actually a decently dark adventure, at the same time definitely something meant for the younger audience. It deals with certain issues that the target age group might find interesting while also providing a musical piece a couple times per episode. If you’re into music mixed with questing and insane over the top vibrancy then this is what you’re looking for.

It does also go over some elements of lessons as the characters band together being insanely over the top in terms of quirkiness. They venture to wacky places, battle back against some element of the darkness and have some rather wild moments throughout their journey. One that is literally along a rainbow, a rainbow road.

The world is dripping with colors, and wild action. There isn’t a whole lot of detail within the backdrop of this animated world, but it still looks pleasing to look at. I really liked the stark different between the war horse and the others.

It’s rather intense seeing a shift over time as well, that you’ll see the adventures continue to go. The voice work was fine, matched the insanely wacky characters. I myself found some of the scenes overwhelming, but I’m sure the younger audience will find this truly exciting as there’s always something going on. It was truly wacky, and just crazy to see in action.

The Conclusion

Centaurworld Season 1 is a great, wacky journey that’s filled with over the top characters and moments that are tied down by the solid lessons it aims to slip into the backdrop. It was rather dark as well, that was surprising at least to me. It handles the material well bringing in that war aspect while being a bit hilarious as this horse clearly does not belong in a super friendly colorful world.

It’s seriously vibrant and at times, too much for me but I know that many will really love what this is bringing. It’s so wacky with large eyes and constantly erratic movement. Quite a time, and the music is actually solid too. They got some alright tunes. I wouldn’t say this is fully my sort of thing, but I enjoyed the viewing and got some laughs out of it so I imagine the target audience will find it even more intriguing. Entertaining as well.
