While I was waiting in line to play Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition at the E3 2019 Xbox Showcase event, I was chatting with the developers on hand. This was during a press time, which normally doesn’t have lines but I was waiting for a capture unit which was fine. While chatting about my connection to the game, I was curious about their thoughts on an Age of Mythology: Definitive Edition. It was the only entry left out of the announcements and it would somewhat make sense for it to happen.
The developers said that ”they want to, and it makes logical sense, but that decision has to come from Microsoft”. So the idea of updating that one is there, developers are working on enhancing the older RTS titles and it would make be logical to throw this one into the queue. This is of course nothing concrete on whether we’ll see this game again, but it’s comforting to know the development team behind the remasters are thinking about it.
