Anthem is set to release on February 22, 2019, and like most games it will launch with a form of extra content called microtransactions. In this game they are called “Shards”, they arrive in packs and will allow you to purchase in-game items. At launch it appears that they will just be an optional purchase as in-game items will also be purchasable with earned currency as well.
It also seems that this will be limited to cosmetic items such as color, texture of other styles for your Javelin suit. The Javelin is what you wear during all missions of the game, it offers high levels of customization for the smallest of details on it. This can all be edited within the game’s Forge area. You unlock enhancements by playing missions, but the visual look will need to be tweaked using default settings, or through the purchase of special items with the in-game currency or these shards.
Another thing to note is that at launch there are four levels of packs to purchase that range from $6.49 CAD at a lowest to $51.99 at the highest end. There’s a deal if you’re an EA Access subscriber. The full details follow on this, including a link to view additional detail or purchase the options for use in the game on the Xbox Store. Prices can also be found on Playstation 4 and PC versions within the region. You can read more about the game below, and visit our hub for additional coverage on EA’s latest new franchise.
