The Call of Duty League 2020 season has kicked off in Minneapolis during the weekend of January 24th. This was three days of intense competition, with only four teams remaining undefeated. That includes the Atlanta FaZe, Chicago Huntsmen, Minnesota Røkkr, and Paris Legion.
There were twelve teams representing eleven cities from four countries. The next part of this tournament will pick up again during February 8th and 9th for the London Home Series.
Some highlights included that this was the first event to stream exclusively on Youtube following Activision Blizzard and Google’s multi-year partnership. This is a strategy where the two companies will work together on gaming content presentation whether that's with servers or competition streaming. Minnesota Røkkr earn perfect record in hometown debut; defeat Toronto Ultra in the "Battle of the North. Chicago Huntsmen - stars of the docu-series, 'The Campaign' - sweep Dallas Empire and Optic Gaming Los Angeles.
The Danish team Singularity win Call of Duty Challengers amateur championship, earn lion's share of $250K prize pool. That’s it for now, it should be interesting to see how the season develops as it continues.
