The second official map for DayZ has been announced, with “Livonia” which is a DLC expansion that was previously noted as releasing prior to the end of 2019. That release window is however tentative. It is set to release for Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC platforms.
The size of the map will be 163km2. This landmass will be based on the Arma 3 Contact map, with a world that has been scarred by the zombie situation. There are large green areas; heavily forested zones, lakes and rivers that are scattered across the land.
Frequent rainfall and thunderstorms will be a signature element of the climate in this area set against the lush of late summer. Another creature will also join the experience, bears. These bears are meant to be a new predator in the forests, providing an extra threat to survivors.
Vast industrial areas, wider rivers and perhaps new items were teased during a smaller trailer presentation. You can see our breakdown of the trailer below in video format. Be sure to check out our review of the game on Xbox One below, or the general hub for additional coverage of the zombie survival experience from Bohemia Interactive. We’ll likely review the new expansion map of Livonia when it does arrive, stay tuned for that down the road.
