Dead Island 2 2018 Still Releasing

It looks like Dead Island 2 is still releasing, as of 2018 the game has been announced as still being development. This is following some fan inquiries into the official Twitter page for the series after the release of a mobile tower defense game. After a fan complaint about the game being stuck in limbo this was the response from the social media channel for Dead Island; "What's going on is that it's in development and we won't be showing more until we're ready. Appreciate the wait is painful, but Dead Island 2 is still coming."

That confirms we will eventually see the second open world cooperative zombie game, if development does continue as they've mentioned. It's been a troubled time behind the scenes on that game apparently, having been revealed many years back in 2014. It was showcased as being a boardwalk setting in California. Whatever the case, we're looking forward to seeing if this sequel does ever come out. The first zombie game was a different experience and hopefully that spirit continues.
