While at E3 2019 this year I was generally inquiring with various developers at bookings about their thoughts on the next generation. While chatting with E-Line Media to check out their two games, The Endless Mission and Beyond Blue I inquired about their thoughts on what’s to come. To start, they’re hoping to provide a Xbox One X enhancement for Beyond Blue.
Moving past that, they’re looking forward to the next generation Xbox Scarlett for the processing power it’ll deliver. The discussion went towards making more exact animation points for large scale sea creatures such as a whale, for enhanced realism.
They’re actively working on trying to get access to a developer kit which is apparently very limited at this point in time. They’re also looking at Google Stadia, but they’re not actively working to deliver there at the current point. With that, they’ve also been considering the Nintendo Switch as a platform for games, but are worried about certain restrictions that come with the platform’s specifications. They want to make sure the experience of their games isn’t lowered across any platform they deliver on.
Definitely some interesting things that I learned, and it grants a good idea of what developers are thinking about when it comes to consoles in the coming years. You can read our preview of Beyond Blue from the event below, or the general E3 2019 hub for additional coverage from the event.
