The upgrades are as follows. Contact Shadows; This allows extremely realistic shadowing as each pixel on the screen traces back to the light source to eliminate any shadow biasing artifacts or fill in missing shadows. Screen Space Global Illumination; integrated from Unreal Engine 4, this feature allows the developers to achieve full real-time GI at 4k 60fps. SSGI’s AO pass replaces the more traditional SSAO giving a much more naturalistic broad real-time AO.

Higher particle counts; 50% higher than on PC Ultra Specs. Real Time Cinematics will play at 4k 60fps and 4k 120fps is being investigated for multiplayer action. This will also have higher resolution textures; improved anisotropic filtering, higher resolution volume fog, higher quality depth of field and extremely far draw distances with high level of object detail. It goes further still with better shadow resolution and shadow distance. There will be high quality screen space reflections and various post-processing improvements. Examples such as Bloom, Lens Flare, Light Shafts and more.

This entry is follows Kait as she’s joined by mostly Del and then JD with the team trying to find out about the history of the Locust. This is what they believe will be the key in regards to dealing with the current growing Swarm threat.
