The time has arrived, Gears of War 4 will have no new customization content or gear packs moving forward. This marks a work shift as The Coalition focuses fully onto Gears 5. This entry featured the most content released for any Gears game with a total of 269 characters and 2,384 weapon skins since launch. There was also a mention that they’ve heard the feedback on key characters the fans want to see in the future.
Moving past that, the Gilded Raam Challenge marks the first of several earnable characters and weapons skins that will transfer over into Gears 5. That means that generally the content you might have earned in Gears of War 4 will not transfer over to the fifth main game. They’re aiming to deliver new and original content in that one. In the near future almost every character and weapon skin set from Gear Packs have been added to Series 3. That means you’ll be able to craft them with scrap, or find them in the standard Gears pack. The exceptions list is below.
Exceptions List for Series 3 Crafting
-All Esports Content, including Supporter Packs, Team Packs and the MLG skin
-Community & Esports stream viewership rewards skin sets
-All Play & Earn / Challenge Characters, including Griffin and Classic Golden Gear
