Gears of War 4 Year of the Dog Event 2018

The Gears of War 4 Year of the Dog Event 2018 has been detailed bringing a series of mini events and unlocks for players to work towards. While this was initially outlined in the Spring 2018 teaser we now have all the information on the event. In this special global event players can work towards collecting new gun skins and enjoying some fresh events in the continuously updated and supported Gears of War 4. To start, there will be global double xp running from February 16th to 19th. The "Pouncer Madness" Horde event starts February 16th and you can log in daily from the same date to collect weapon skins. These are some sweet weapon skins that can be collected daily until March 1st.

Horde Madness Event
The Pouncer is the focus as mentioned previously, battle through 25 crazy waves on Normal or Insane against these menacing creatures. From community feedback on past events you're guaranteed a Midnight Omen Weapon Skin for every full run in the Horde mode. Only two will be available to limit possible duplication and that includes the Midnight Omen Enforcer or Boomshot. You can only earn these in the playlist up to February 23rd so get pouncing. As a bonus to players you can collect 800 credits (up from 200) for your first win on February 15th and 600 credits for your first win on March 1st.

Permanent Double Class XP
After some testing, classes will be given a permanent double xp boost so that players can quickly level up. That means the new standard will be what double xp was going forward so that you're more easily able to earn skills.

Quitting Penalties
Quitter or those that stand around will now face harsher punishments. Suspension time is now thirty minutes for quitting though there will be a reduction for those that rejoin a game. The potential for earning credits is also decreased for those that quit matches. For those that leave their controller or keyboard for too long, the kick time has changed to what's been outlined below.

New Kick Timer: 180 seconds (3 minutes)

Previous Kick Timer: 120 seconds (2 minutes)
New Kick Timer: 90 seconds (1 minute 30 seconds)
