Gigantic had a really rough development being announced many years back at E3 2015 and eventually launching years later to what wasn't a large player base. With that, the January 2018 update will be the last one the game receives as Gigantic will be shutting down on July 31st, 2018. The developers wanted to mention that "We want to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who gave Gigantic a chance". Going forward towards the end all heroes will be free, including the new hero T-Mat and the purchasing of Rubies or Hero Packs has been disabled. Currency will still be rewarded within the game and all items in the shop will be available at a reduced cost.
Over the past several months the teams at Motiga and Perfect World both attempted to find a way to continue Gigantic in viable way, but they just weren't able to make it work. It's disappointing to see Gigantic get shut down after so many years of development and we rather enjoyed it as you can read in our review of the game below. Players can still easily enjoy the game until it closes however.
