Despite some recent negative views on the franchise, Halo continues to dominate Xbox platform sales going into the later years of the Xbox One lifespan. The flagship franchise was really the heart of the platform in the early years on the Original Xbox and then on Xbox 360. It has however had some levels of fatigue and disappointment from fans over recent releases. That appears to mostly just be general discussion as the game still is hitting the best sales out of all titles released for the Xbox One console.
This information (NPD Group provided) is based on dollar sales of physical and digital titles within the United States. It ranked, as of November 2018 as the eighth best selling game on the platform. It passed both Destiny 2 and Fallout 4 (digital not included for Bethesda titles). Above it stands a number of Call of Duty titles, it's certainly an impressive placement. It also shows that while the franchise has had more golden days, it still is an absolute seller for Microsoft. It should be interesting to see if it holds onto that spot towards the final years of the generation and to see how Halo Infinite fairs when it releases.
