The second iteration of Microsoft’s premium augmented reality experience is now available for pre-order. The HoloLens 2 is priced at $3500 USD launching in 2019 with availability in the following markets; United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, France, New Zealand, Australia, Germany and China. The immersion of the device is enhanced with the industry leading 47 pixels per degree of sight and a more than doubled field of view. There are also eye-tracking sensors that make interaction with the holograms more natural. You can log in with Windows Hello as well. The comfort is improved by a better balanced center of gravity.
Thermal management has been adjusted and it is now accounting for my variability in the size and shape of people’s heads. The dial-in fit system makes it more comfortable for extended periods of time and its glasses friendly. This headset is of course untethered, with various improvements to speech recognition and voice command response. The HoloLens 2 package includes the device; a carrying case, overheard strap, microfiber cloth, charger and a USB-C Cable.
