While at E3 2019 I was inquiring with various developers in regards to their work on next generation consoles. This is of course due to the set window for launches being 2020, and E3 being a good spot to ask for comments in regards to that sort of thing. During my time at the Konami booth for PES 2020 I was able to ask about support for the new platforms. What came up during the conversation was whether there would be support for Google Stadia as that’s on the horizon. The developer on hand answered and then also mentioned PES on Nintendo Switch.
It’s a natural progression of the conversation, but not something I was directly thinking about at that point. They’re currently focused on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC at the current point, but are considering Nintendo Switch with caution. It was a specific mention that they’re monitoring the market at the current point to consider it in the future. So you likely won’t see the Football/Soccer simulation this year, but may down the road. Read our preview of this year’s title below or check out our E3 hub for additional coverage.
