Star Wars Dark Squadron Prototype Leaked

It’s always fun when a surprise unreleased game gets presented to the public. Today is one of those days, where an unreleased build of what was a Rogue Squadron spin-off has been released. The video is down below if you’d like to jump right down into that in order to see what it has to offer. That being titled “Star Wars: Dark Squadron”

Regardless, I have some details to go over on this one. It was being developed by Factor 5 and was meant to act as a fresh take on the classic Rogue Squadron flying Star Wars series that has been out in the ether for quite awhile at the point of writing.

This video is presented by PtoPONline, which is a Youtube channel that does an excellent job of preserving games and has a neat gem every now and then. It’s noted in the description that this build wasn’t found by the channel. “donhonk” dumped the kit and “MrPinkball 64” and “Dink” recovered it.

The build showcases a selection of scenes including what resembles and level, a debug setup and then a wild chaotic space battle. This was also being worked on for the Original Xbox so it’s hard to say what the overall status or target of the project would have been. It’s really neat to see in action, especially the chaos scene with so many ships blasting one another. Definitely worth a viewing if it sounds interesting to you.
