The Xbox Design Lab will be closing on October 14, 2020. It will then return at an unspecified time in 2021. While it’s not officially noted as to why this is happening, it is very likely due to the generation shift with the release of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles.
Those new releases will have a refreshed controller option that has some additional features such as the share button. It’s very likely that the custom controller options are being removed for a temporary time in order to update the service for those new controllers.
We have reached out to our local rep in order to gather additional details on this. If you’re looking to get a personalized controller for the holidays it’s best to do so sooner than later. That being said, it might be worth the wait to have the new refreshed features.
If you’re not familiar with the service it allows you to pick the colors and design of many controller aspects for the base Xbox One controller. That has Bluetooth support, the latest 3.5mm port and all other up to date standards. Check out the store from the link below or check out our Xbox hub for further coverage of the platform.
