To start off, Marvel’s Runaways Season 3 will be the end of the series. There will be no fourth season, but its fun to dive into what could have been. At the end of season 3 things get wrapped up, and they deal with the death of their close friend Gertrude Yorkes (Ariela Barer). That is, until time travel which was teased in earlier seasons gets thrown into the mix for one wild final ride.

I’d explain the entirety of the last episode, but none of it actually happens due to the team changing their future, so it’s all pointless here. The absolute last scene does however show the team walking off into the sunset after they end up saving Gert, but just prior a small parchment is read. This was a piece of paper left behind by the future Alex Wilder (Rhenzy Feliz) who had come back to try and kill the group. This paper has three lines on it.

1) Infiltrate Wilder Innovators.
2) Hide Mancha.
3) Kill Nico.
Runaways Season 3 End
This note is brushed aside, but it points to a future comics run. It would appear that Wilder Innovators was working on a fairly legendary, or just known character from the Marvel universe. That is Victor Mancha, a character that joins the Runaways after discovering he’s not a human but an android created by Ultron. Victor is attempting to stop a dark future in which he becomes Victorious, a super powered being that kills most of the Avengers and Gert in the future.

We don’t know how this character would have fit into the crew or how his origins would have changed, but likely was the one that slashed Chase Stein (Gregg Sulkin) in the future as Chase says to never trust a guy named Victor in this season after being asked about that scar. That being future Chase to further clarify, but that timeline does get erased in this final season. It could also always be meant to happen with future Alex leaving that note which was perhaps initially brushed off. A locked time event set to always happen, who knows.

The final note on that paper is about killing Nico, possibly because she’s the strongest of the group. This could also be a way of unlocking her full potential in regards to her powers and the usage of the staff which she seems to have moved on from. A lot of that is driven by dark magic. We’re also left wondering which of the team set a bomb off on Alex in the future as well since that’s never explained. That’s all I have thoughts wise on what might happen, let me know if you have any other theories about this as its fun to think about.

Who knows, maybe someday this will get integrated within Disney+ but I feel this is the last we see of this particular take on the group. Read our review of the last season below, or check out the overall hub for additional coverage of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
