The Outlier Gold wireless earbuds from Creative are an excellent option for audio listening no matter the situation. I was given these during CES 2020 and have been using them since the show in a number of ways. From sitting at home listening to music casually, to having something more upbeat during a gym work out.
These earbuds definitely do deliver with high quality audio, and great comfort. As with similar reviews I’ve done I will note that these aren’t great for sleeping with, but they are more comfortable than other options. They offer more head turning freedom cushion wise, a weird mention but something I feel is worth noting as it’s a usage of mine.
Continuing on these provide an incredible battery life of thirty-nine hours of play time with fourteen hours per charge. It feels as though they last forever, and fit nicely into their little special carrying case. This is a great solution for holding the earbuds, and while it’s larger in size it does look aesthetically pleasing. The case only weighs fifty-four grams. It also has a nice feeling to it when held, that being said the inside that slides out could have been sturdier.
You get light indicators on the side for charging and this uses a USB Type-C connection. Going back to the earbuds they look fantastic, sleek and are rather discrete when placed in the ear. They’re comfortable with multiple gel options for various ear sizes and they hold well even if you’re moving around. There’s a soft light connection that shows on the outside when they sync, this is a good option for seeing how it’s responding to being setup for usage.
They’re equipped with a microphone for voice calls or voice assistant usage. Easily communicate with Siri of Google Assistant and I’ve been personally conversing with Siri using these and they’re solid for that. The audio quality is superb with 5.6mm graphene drivers and a weight of ten grams. I’ve been really impressed with the quality of the sound these output, they’re loud and clear.
They get all of the smaller tings in songs and that’s appreciated as some wireless earbuds don’t quite hit the mark in that regard. If you’d like to get fancier there’s also Super X-Fi technology which is activated through an extra app you download on your mobile device. When it comes to noise cancelling I didn’t have any issues, at half volume on my iPhone XS I didn’t really notice others doing their day to day which is nice to have.
These are IPX5 certified so some liquid and sweat can come in contact with them, so workout hard without having to worry. When it comes to connection they use Bluetooth 5.0 which is awesome as I can just leave my phone behind while I go around the house. I didn’t have any issues on different floors of the house, or in other rooms. It was clear, connected well and offered freedom which is nice.
The Creative Outlier Gold is an excellent wireless earbud option featuring an aesthetically pleasing look, incredible battery life and great audio quality. I continue to be impressed by the quality of the audio, even listening to them as I write this. It hits all the right notes, gets the smallest of tings and that’s important for the type of music I like to listen to.
These look great, are light and fit into the ear well. I used them for a workout and didn’t have any problems, it’s nice to get rid of the wires that have tethered me for far too long. There’s a nice case with them, and the color choice was tops here. The battery life delivers, and with Bluetooth 5.0 you get an extended feeling of freedom. I’ve really enjoyed these and will be using them as my primary earbud option.
